Jeff Segal Cabinetmaker - Handmade furniture in the Arts and Crafts tradition

Commissioning a piece of furniture

Many people who think about ordering a bespoke piece of furniture for the first time can feel a little daunted at the prospect. Don't worry - it's very simple and you'll be involved at every stage.

We start with a friendly, informal chat and work out the requirements and design together. I'll do some drawings or you and once we've agreed on the precise brief, usually after a few weeks, I'll ask you to agree a price and sign off a formal proposal before I schedule the work.

Have a look at my commissioning guide to find out more about the process.

Updates

I’ll send you regular e-mail updates and photos of the project as it takes shape, and I post images and updates to my website as construction progresses

Clients are more than welcome to visit my workshop in Bermondsey by appointment to see the piece under construction.

I can also supply you with copies of the original drawings for you to keep.
